It had been in Beta for what seemed like ages, but Google recently rolled out their long-awaited Call History feature to Google my Business (GMB). This incredibly handy feature provides business owners with a detailed history of who calls your business, and gives you the option to view an individual caller’s history and call them back directly - without the need for a specific call tracking tool.
Did You Know? According to Google, 46% of searches have a ‘local intent’.
How it works
Say you are searching for a Marketing Company to help with local search engine optimization. You do a quick search on your phone, and you click the “CALL” button on Dot The i Creative’s business profile. Since DTi has call forwarding set up in our Google My Business account, that call information will be tracked and show up in the “Calls” tab of our profile. The “Calls” tab allows you to easily find recent calls, manage missed calls, and more.
How will I know which calls are from my GMB listing and which calls aren't
Customers will always connect to your business via a forwarding number instead of through the number listed on your profile, and there will be an automated message that says, “Call from Google.”
