Dot The i Creative

About Us

Dot The i Creative is a full service advertising and design agency, specializing in digital marketing and web design. DTi was founded in 2010 by Matt Adams. The name Dot The i Creative is an homage to both his experience at Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) and the The Ohio State University. While at CCAD, 1/3 of every project grade was derived from the presentation and attention to technical detail of the medium used. This lesson of “details matter” stuck with him and is present in every project.

During his time at CCAD, he also took one class every year at The Ohio State University - “Music 186” also known as The OSU Marching Band. After 4 years of auditioning and making the band each year, he earned the privilege to “Dot the i” in the Incomparable Script Ohio, “college football’s greatest tradition.” The name, Dot The i Creative, is a tribute to both his past and his future. Dot The i Creative clients know that our attention to detail will be a priority (e.g. Dot the i’s and cross the t’s). And we will never stop cheering on our Buckeyes!

Over the years, Dot The i Creative has grown to include several team members with diverse backgrounds and individual specialties, from web development to social to account management. Our team values constant learning and the highest level of customer focus. Our clients enjoy the wonderful results of such a creative and talented crew.

Along with our team, our approach at DTi has provided our clients a custom solution with the best possible results. We call this approach the Four Pillars. These four principles of marketing create the infrastructure for any business to excel and meet their goals year after year. The Four Pillars are Lead Generation, Branding, Optimization, and Retention. The best results occur when all four areas are strong. The four pillars augment and reinforce each other, allowing a business to get the best results from each of them.

Simply put, the one-off tactic business marketing approach is no longer effective in today’s marketing landscape.  Just doing ‘Google Ads’ or sending out email campaigns does not yield the results they once did.  Choosing one of these tactics can be good for your business, but not great.  And we want to be more than good for our clients! Based on our experience, we have found that all successful businesses have a solid foundation with activity in each of the four pillars.  There are several available tactics within each of the four pillars, such as search engine optimization, paid search, marketing automation, email marketing, programmatic display advertising, blog content generation, and analytics, kind of like tools in a toolbox.  We help our clients determine which pillars to focus on and which tools to choose under a given pillar.  Listening to the client’s short and long-term goals and setting completion dates for these goals are integral to the process.  Then we can determine where your current focus has been.  Often a business will have significant activity in one or two of the pillars, but the other two will be empty.  For example, many businesses have been doing most of their marketing activity in Lead Generation, but very little in Branding, which maximizes the effectiveness of Lead Generation.  Once activity is occurring in all four pillars, a solid marketing infrastructure has been built and can be used for each new goal year after year, fast-tracking your business’ success.

We start the process by conducting some in depth research into your company and industry and listening to your objectives. As we learn about your business and your goals, we can begin to build your custom Four Pillar Marketing Strategy. You can then fill in the pillars where your activity has been light or vacant to balance out your foundation. This will maximize your efficiency and results. Then you can build upon your foundation for years to come. As you complete each goal, you can use your Four Pillar Strategy again and again with each new goal.
